In this free, half-day educational event defense contractors will learn about the DFARS cybersecurity clause, NIST SP 800-171, and future CMMC requirements.  Importantly, defense contractors will gain an understanding of what is meant by cybersecurity resilience, how to manage their risk, and what steps they can take to ensure they adequately protect all information and the future of their business.

Topics covered include:

  • Understanding cyber resiliency and cybersecurity risk management
  • DFARS Requirements including Protecting Covered Defense Information, Flow Down, and Incident Reporting
  • Understanding and Implementing Security Guidance: NIST SP 800-171
  • Future Requirements (CMMC) and Audits
  • What specific steps you can take to remain eligible to do business within the DoD Supply Chain

Who Should Attend? Owners, CEOS, COOs, CIO’s, Quality Managers and IT professionals of manufacturers and other companies with contracts within the Department of Defense supply chain, whether you’re a prime, subcontractor to a prime, or in a lower tier.

This event is hosted by VMEC and will be presented by cybersecurity experts from the Connecticut MEP, CONNSTEP.  In addition to the MEP National Network, New England MEP National Network Centers also supporting the event include MASS MEP, Maine MEP, Polaris MEP, CONNSTEP and New Hampshire MEP.  The VT PTAC (Procurement Technical Assistance Center) and the Vermont Agency of Commerce & Community Development (ACCD) are also supporting this event in Vermont. 

This event is free of charge to all participants but you must register.  Space is limited. Manufacturers and Defense Contractors will be given first preference.  At this time, companies that provide cybersecurity services will be placed on a waiting list, and notified after February 7 if seating is available.
