Sponsored by: VMEC Many successful companies are operating volatile and uncertain environments where demand cannot be reasonably predicted. The challenge is to figure out how to transform the supply chain from a traditional planning-based system (Push) to an integrated demand-driven system (Pull) that is both cost efficient and responsive to customers. Participants are immersed in an exciting scenario and take on the roles of suppliers, customers, and manufacturing plant employees, and logistics handlers. Basic and advanced lean principles are discussed and applied during the simulation that improve the flow of materials, information, and cash between suppliers, the manufacturer, and customers. The end result is a series of measurable improvements to the Supply Chain that are driven through a collaborative approach with suppliers and customers and benefit all parties. The workshop will provide opportunities for participants to talk about supply chain issues that are important to their business; and learn how the application of lean principles demonstrated in the simulation can be applied to drive improvement in their supply chains. |
