Strategic and Long-Range Planning

Sponsored by: VMEC

Small and medium sized manufacturers generally have mixed feelings about the future. Most effort goes into handling the day to day operational issues essential to maintaining life in the competitive environment of business in the 21st century. A company owner or senior management team rarely has a chance to really evaluate the business, visualize where it may go and dream of what may be.

Strategic and long range planning is a VMEC workshop designed to train senior management teams in the planning process. Using six stages, the current state of the organization is analyzed, a long term future state is visualized and a plan put in place to realize that future. Along the way, issues such as succession planning and exit strategies, reward and recognition systems and growth plans are created and refined. Created by the 360vu network and VMEC’s strategic management services practice, this workshop aims to leave participants with ideas, a process and structure they can apply to their own organizations almost immediately.
