Accounting and measurement systems that work in traditional manufacturing environments do not work well in the radically different environment of a Lean enterprise. Many companies have discovered that to sustain Lean, they must change their accounting and measurement systems. This is an introductory eight-hour session. The goal is to present an overview of the reasons why Lean accounting is important and introduce the new methods that successful Lean manufacturers are using to bring their measurement and accounting processes in line with "Lean thinking." Previous experience with Value Stream Mapping is required.
